Mayo Children's Initiative is funded by The Atlantic Philanthropies. The Atlantic Philanthropies are dedicated to bringing about lasting changes in the lives of people who are disadvantaged by their economic situation, race, nationality, gender, age, disabilities, immigration, status, sexual orientation, political affiliation or religion. Grants are made available through their Ageing, Children & Youth, Population Health & Reconciliation & Human Rights programmes. There are active in Australia, Bermunda, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, South Africa, the United States and Viet Nam.

The Atlantic Philanthropies are committed to making immediate improvements in the lives of people who need change the most by spending Atlantic's entire endownment by 2020.
